A specialist charity founded by three ENT consultants with a shared passion for education.
Prepared4ENT was established in 2011 by three practising ENT consultants — Professor Vik Veer, Nav Kara, and Anja Lieder — who recognised that junior doctors entering the specialty lacked access to affordable, high-quality, hands-on ENT training.
What began as a small group of like-minded specialists has grown into a registered UK charity, delivering courses that genuinely make a difference. Year after year, over 50% of our delegates secure ENT training posts following the national ST3 selection process.
We operate on an entirely voluntary basis. Every course is designed and delivered by practising consultants, and all surplus funds are reinvested into future educational activities — keeping fees as low as possible for the professionals who need these courses most.

Prepared4ENT was created by three ENT consultants committed to raising the standard of specialty training across the UK and beyond.
Professor Vik Veer is a practising ENT Consultant and Professor with a particular interest in medical education and training. A co-founder of Prepared4ENT, he has been instrumental in designing courses that replicate real clinical and interview conditions, giving delegates the best possible preparation for their careers in ENT surgery.
Mr Nav Kara is a Consultant ENT Surgeon based in Darlington, and a joint founder of Prepared4ENT. An experienced educational supervisor for junior doctors and an instructor on regional cadaveric training days, he brings a wealth of teaching expertise to the charity. He is also a principal investigator on international industry and national clinical trials.
Dr Anja Lieder is an ENT Consultant currently based in Germany and a co-founder of Prepared4ENT. Her international perspective and clinical expertise enrich the charity's educational offering, ensuring our courses reflect the breadth of modern otolaryngology practice. Her commitment to accessible, excellent ENT training has shaped the charity from the start.
