About This Course

A Comprehensive Practical Day

The Prepared4ENT Practical ENT Course provides both lecture-based knowledge and hands-on practical experience in common ENT conditions and procedures. It covers exactly what you'd encounter on an ENT hospital rotation or in primary care — taught by consultants who do this every day.

The course is held at the Education Centre at Sunderland Royal Hospital, and is deliberately kept small to maximise hands-on time for every delegate.

Is This Course for You?

Who Should Attend

This course has been developed to be most beneficial for those with limited or no previous ENT experience. We would suggest that those who have already passed the DoHNS would not benefit.

Junior Doctors

Foundation, CT and ST doctors starting an ENT post, or doctors keen to explore ENT as a career. Ideal if you haven't had ENT experience before.

GPs & GP Trainees

With nearly 25% of primary care workload ENT-related, this course is invaluable for GPs. Also relevant to those considering the DoHNS with a view to a GP special interest.

A&E Doctors

ENT emergencies are common in emergency medicine. This course covers the ENT emergencies you'll face and how to handle them confidently.

Nurses

ENT specialist nurses, those considering flexible nasendoscopy, and nurses working on ENT wards — especially valuable with hospital-at-night rotations.

Medical Students

Final-year students keen to get ahead and broaden their clinical skills before entering foundation training.

Allied Health Professionals

Physiotherapists, audiologists and other AHPs who encounter ENT problems and wish to better understand ENT anatomy, conditions and emergency management.
